Tender for Caldicot GI improvements

Monmouthshire County Council is currently delivering a multi million pound Caldicot Green Connections Project around the town centre, improving Green Infrastructure, Biodiversity and Active Travel opportunities, mostly funded by a Welsh Government grant. This project forms part of the wider regeneration plans for Caldicot Town and builds upon previous work that included the enhancement of the Cross area.

This invitation to tender is for a range of Green Infrastructure improvements in Caldicot that will enhance Green Route Ways along Chepstow Road, Caldicot bypass, through Caldicot Castle and Country Park, along the old upper Church road, Ebbw Road and around Cas Troggy park and link to the town centre. This work includes tree planting, planting for pollinators, general open space improvements and creating new wild play provision.

A key theme of the wider project is providing opportunities for a local school and the community to be involved in shaping and delivering the improvements in the project areas and we would like to see this continued as part of the delivery of the works outlined in this tender.

All the work subject to this tender is due for completion by the end of March 2021.
