Abstract

Please note that this is an award notice advising of the conclusion to a contract opportunity. The opportunity is now closed. Welsh Government were seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified contractor to carry out a two phase contract for the Evaluation of the Code of Practice on the Delivery of Autism Services in Wales. In summary and as background, the Code of Practice was published under the Social Services and Well-being Wales Act 2014 and the NHS (Wales) Act 2006. The code places expectations on services to deliver timely and high-quality services which meet the needs of autistic people and their families. The review required will look at the progress the code has made since it’s implementation in September 2021. The Code itself provides clarity to local health boards, NHS trusts, local authorities and Regional Partnership Boards and the responsibilities and services they are required to provide to support autistic people in their day to day lives. The work that will be delivered through this contract will involve two stages: the first stage focusing on the progress the code has made on the delivery of Autism services so far since its implementation and developing recommendations for improvements. The second stage will further review the progress of the code and whether the recommendations from stage one have been addressed. The first stage will be for an initial 8 month period with the second stage beginning in June 2024, completing by March 2025.
