Description of the goods or services required

The works relate to second floor areas in Queens Central Building, Queens South Building and Trevithick Building located on Newport Road, Cardiff.

Queen’s Central / South Buildings consists of 4 floors and a basement, and the planned works are to rooms C1.06 - C1.08 and S2.11, S2.15. The proposed works are to open up rooms C1.06, C1.07 & C1.08 and S2.11 & S2.15 to create two large teaching spaces to provide workshops and teaching spaces for Electric Vehicle programme.

Trevithick Building consists of 3 floors and the planned works are to T0.30. The proposed works involved internal refurbishment to provide a space for Cardiff engineering students. An external lithium battery store will be installed with a 3 phase power supply.

Both areas will require structural, mechanical, electrical and building fabric refurbishment works as described within the Schedule of Works and Specification.

Additional Information

Access to the Procurement documents will close at 12 Noon on 22nd December 2023 in order for Site Visits to take

place 4th - 5th and 12th of January 2024. Further details regarding site visits are contained in Schedule 2 - Specification.

All tender costs and liabilities incurred by bidders shall be the sole responsibility of bidders.

The University reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part.

The University reserves the right to annul the tendering process and not award any contract.
