Abstract

Design, supply and build a fresh produce washing system with water recycling capabilities. An approach should be developed to allow Puffin Produce Ltd to clean their fresh potato product under continuously cleaned and recycled water, rather than washing in tanks with batches of water which become dirty and loaded with bacteria after the first load of potatoes has been washed. The system to be designed is initially to clean potatoes but should have the capability to be applied to any root vegetables. It should be recognised as a truly environmental solution. Tenders should include costs for design, build and necessary equipment costs associated with the suggested system; and to include pumps, sumps, attenuation tanks, filters and separators, chemical application and balance tanks, etc. Further details available in Additional Documents.
