Abstract

Replacement scheme for Oak’s End Close Footbridge. The scheme essentially comprises the replacement of the current footbridge with a contractor designed steel half through footbridge, the construction of new abutments and associated river training walls, the introduction of scour protection measures, and construction. The bridge shape, span, length and construction as described on drawings as listed in Appendix 0/4 of the Specification. The Contractor will be expected to: 1) Provide temporary works to work within a watercourse; 2) Manage water in vicinity of works and manage environmental requirements; 3) Submit a detailed method statement to CCBC Land Drainage Team to complement the existing Flood Defence Consent. It is anticipated that the construction period will commence on 17th April 2017 since special dispensation has been sought from National Resources Wales to enter the salmonid watercourse prior to 15th May. Depending on the method statement from the appointed contractor works may be able to start earlier for components of the scheme that do not involve work within the watercourse. The works and services will be carried out under the terms and conditions of, the NEC 3 Suite of Contract Documents, Third Edition, first published in June 2005 (June 2005 (including amendments June 2006, September 2011 and April 2013) by Thomas Telford Ltd for the Institution of Civil Engineers. The exact form of Contract that will be used under the NEC 3 suite is Option B: Priced Contract with Bill of Quantities.

Description of the goods or services required

In order to be able to undertake construction related work for the Council on this specific project, it will be a mandatory requirement for all suppliers to: Hold membership with Constructionline; and Hold a Health & Safety Accreditation through an SSIP approved Scheme.

Tenderers must express an interest in this tender by completing the following:

1.Log in to the Proactis Supplier Portal at https://supplierlive.proactisp2p.com/Account/Login

2.Click the ‘Sign Up’ option on the Portal homepage (If already registered go to point 11).

3.Enter your correct Organisation Name, Details and Primary Contact Details.

4.Please make a note of the Organisation ID and User Name, then click ‘Register’.

5.You will then receive an email from the system asking you to follow a link to activate your account.

6.Please enter the information requested, clicking on the blue arrow to move on to the next stage and follow the instructions ensuring that you enter all applicable details.

7.In the Classification section please ensure that you select the Product Classification Codes (CPV Codes) that appear in the tender notice, it is essential that only CPV Codes specific to your organisation are added to your profile.

8.Buyer Selection. At this stage you are required to indicate which Buyer Organisations you would like to register with. Please remember to register with Caerphilly to ensures that you will be alerted to all relevant opportunities.

9.Terms & Conditions. Read the terms & conditions of the use of this Supplier Portal and tick the box to denote you have read and understood the terms and that you agree to abide by them. If you do not agree you cannot complete the registration process.

Once you have agreed click on the blue arrow to move on to the next stage.
