Abstract

The Active Building Centre (ABC) is a national centre of excellence looking to transform construction through the deployment of active buildings - disrupting the energy and construction industry through new solar powered building design. The Active Building Centre is hosted by Swansea University and is an independent centre funded by UKRI through the Transforming Construction Challenge, it is seeking to develop solutions to enable the mass adoption of Active Buildings Key to the project is the capture and storage of consistent, informative data, from buildings in use. This package of work seeks to develop a standard approach for structuring and naming of data collected from buildings systems, define specifications for systems to enable communication and data capture, and develop the specification for the platform to store data.
