Abstract

As part of the Farming Connect Programme there are 18 demonstration sites located across Wales. We are interested in undertaking biodiversity audits on up to three of the Demonstration farms to establish the current status and areas of opportunity to improve habitat and biodiversity potential. As part of the work we would need on-going support to Farming Connect staff delivering the work on farm, the host farmer and ongoing monitoring to evaluate the impact of any interventions over a three year period.

Professional accreditation
It is stated that any contractors and subcontractors will need to have the relevant accreditation, minimum CIEEM.
To clarify this position; we would expect those leading on the work to be CIEEM accredited and the work of any non-accredited staff members would need to be signed off by the lead staff.

Selection of farms
The selection of suitable farms will be a joint decision between the successful tenderer, Farming Connect staff and the farmers involved. Farming Connect does not have access to detailed mapping illustrating the habitat types but detailed information on farm layout, stocking, cropping and farming practices can be provided.
