Abstract

Bute Park & Sophia Gardens contain several outdoor grass event areas. These are used for a whole host of large and small event types throughout the year, the booking of which is managed by the Bute Park Manager and team based at the Bute Park Education Centre. 1.2 It is critical to the success of the annual event programme that the grass areas are kept adequately maintained and reinstated. 1.3 The in-house grounds maintenance team are able to undertake certain works throughout the year but limitations on capacity and certain plant and equipment means the Council requires a 3rd party contractor to assist in the work programme.
