Abstract

The MEECE project at Cardiff School of Engineering require a new high speed camera. High speed cameras are used to gain qualitative examination of the fluid flow through a vertical axis turbine, in both a recirculating water flume and wind tunnel. The data will aid in the optimisation of product design and later numerical model validation. Successful bidder must be able to deliver by no later than 17th April 2023.

Description of the goods or services required

The MEECE project at Cardiff School of Engineering require a new high speed camera.

High speed cameras are used to gain qualitative examination of the fluid flow through a vertical axis turbine, in both a recirculating water flume and wind tunnel. The data will aid in the optimisation of product design and later numerical model validation.

Successful bidder must be able to deliver by no later than 17th April 2023.

One camera required with some of the following mandatory requirements:

Up to 12,800fps with full resolution and to 1Mfps with reduced resolution. 0.2µs global shutter independent of frame rate. (No less than 6000fps).

Laowa 100mm F2.8 2:1 Ultra Macro APO Lens - Nikon F. 100mm macro lens offering 2:1 magnification at 24.7cm (or equivalent specs for camera).

Sigma 24-105mm F4 DF OS HSM -General purpose telephoto zoom with f/4 aperture throughout range (G type) Min OD 0.45m (or equivalent spec for camera).

16GB recording memory (16GB, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB options).

1/10 GigaBit Ethernet interface.

FASTDrive for rapid download and archive of recording memory to Large capacity SSD Media FASTCAM Viewer v4 system control software and support for MATLAB and LabVIEW. (Equivalent interface acceptable).
