Description of the contract
Swansea Bay University Health Board (the “Health Board” or SBUHB) was established in April 2019 and covers Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
SBUHB wishes to appoint a provider to service/maintain the air conditioning units and their associated equipment and provide the SBUHB with assurance on F-Gas checks and to ensure that it meets with any Statutory Requirements and to also encompass on review, any future changes in legislation.
This specification details the requirements for the maintenance of air conditioning units and planned inspection of Air Conditioning equipment at the hospitals and properties listed within the asset list and the contractor will issue an F-Gas certificate in accordance within the following standard;
Qualifications to work with F-Gas (published December 2014/updated March 2021 - Statutory Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (SRAC) systems (including heat pumps) qualifications;
You must have these qualifications to service and repair SBUHB equipment.
You will need the following to fulfil the requirement of the SBUHB on any equipment in relation to F- Gas,
Category 1 certificate to carry out all activities (Minimum of City &Guilds 2079-11 (FCAT1)).
Category 2 certificate to install, maintain, service and recover refrigerant from systems containing F gas equivalent to less than 5 tonnes of CO2
Category 3 certificate to recover refrigerant from systems that contain less than 3kg of F gas
Category 4 certificate to check equipment for leaks if you don’t break into the refrigeration circuit
You must have a qualification as an individual from an accredited organisation which has been appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) (or an equivalent qualification that another EU member state recognises):
