Title

Provision of Roofing and External Improvement Works For Two Projects

Description of the goods or services required

Bron Afon is seeking a suitably qualified, skilled and experienced principal contractor to deliver roofing and associated communal area internal and external general repair works for two (2) projects within the Torfaen County Borough.

Project 1 – Croesyceliog & Llanyravon Corner Blocks

This project involves roofing works to thirty-three (33) low rise blocks of flats and five (5) separate terraced houses. The project includes replacement of roof coverings and external bin stores as well as general repairs to concrete stairs and landings.

Project 2 – Roofing & EWI Works to Seven (7) Properties

This project involves roofing, EWI and associated enabling works to seven (7) properties within the Blaenavon area of Torfaen.

The two projects will form the subject of separate JCT Contracts but Tendering Organisations must submit a tender for both projects as part of this procurement process and commit to delivering all works.

Project 1: Thirty three (33) low rise corner blocks of flats and five separate terraced houses which are attached to four of the block located within Croesyceiliog area of Torfaen.

Project 2: Seven (7) individual properties which are located within the Blaenavon area of Torfaen.

The total estimated value of this opportunity is circa £700,000.00.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Tendering Organisations are required to:

Have a turnover of £1,000,000 or greater in the last two most recently completed financial years or be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of Bron Afon their financial stability is sufficient to deliver this contract.

Hold a Safety Schemes In Procurement (SSIP) accreditation including principal contractor status.

Have relevant operatives (employed by the Contractor and or their sub-contractors) Gas Safe Registered or equivalent for the following competencies:

CCN1 – Core Gas safety

CEN1 – Central Heating Boilers

CENWAT – Domestic central heating and instantaneous water heaters

CKR1 – Domestic cookers

HTR1 – Domestic Space heaters

MET1 – Domestic meters

MET2 – Domestic Meters

Hold or have a sub-contractor that holds accreditation / training for the installation of Alumasc Euroroof Cold Applied System or equivalent.

Hold or have a sub-contractor that holds accreditation as a National Federation of Roofing Contractor.

Hold or have a sub-contractor that holds accreditation / training for the installation of Structherm external wall insulation or equivalent as an approved installer.

Have Up-to-date Non-Licensed Asbestos Works training certificate from a training provider accredited by one of the following bodies UKATA, IATP, BOHS, ASHEeLA or equivalent for all relevant employees and sub-contractors employees.

Have or have a sub-contractor that has the ability to complete the construction, inspection and testing of the electrical installations in compliance with BS7671- 2008 (2015) and any subsequent amendments and provide the appropriate electrical test certificate(s) on completion. Including the following competencies: Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer.
