Abstract

We wish to trial biological pest control on two soft fruit farms operating different systems in South-West Wales. Growers are keen to move away from the use of conventional pesticides. A range of predators and bio-pesticides will be trialled and growers mentored by specialists experienced in control species’ lifecycles over two growing seasons as part of an integrated pest and disease management (IPDM) programme. Latest industry methods will be utilised to maximise the potential for effective pest and disease control on their holdings. Outputs will be compared against conventional pest control methods using evidence collected throughout the project.
