Supply & Delivery of Decorative Illuminated Footpath Bollards

Description of the goods or services required

Newport City Council (NCC) is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced manufacturers / distributors for the supply and delivery of Decorative Illuminated Footpath Bollards as detailed in the contract documents.

Newport City Council has been successful in its application for funding for the years 2019/20. The routes for improvement and development were identified through a series of public consultations held to comply with the Statutory Duties under the Active Travel Act 2013

The scheme is to illuminated the new Active Travel route through the woodland park and enable this off road route to be used at all times in accordance with the standards set for Active Travel routes.

The choice of dark sky bollard stems from the identification of bats who are using the woodland to roost and feed. Bats are protected species and any activity that may cause disturbance is unlawful and the Council must be mindful of its duties under the Environment Act (2016) to promote and take account of the resilience of ecosystems in the exercise of its functions.

1. Register your company on the etenderwales portal (this is only required once)

2. Express an Interest in the Project

- Click on the relevant ITT (itt_79919 available from 20th January 2020)to access the content.

- Click the “Express Interest” button in the “Actions” box on the page.

- This will move the ITT into your “My ITTs” page. (This is a secure area reserved for your projects only)

- Click on the ITT code to access the content

3. Responding to the tender

- You can now choose to “Create Response” or “Decline to Respond” (please give a reason if declining)

- You can now use the ‘Messages’ function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification

- Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT
