Abstract

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board and Cardiff Local Authority who sought to establish a contract for Optometry Services for HMP Cardiff. The Health Board has a requirement for an Optometrist, who is registered with the General Optical Council and is on the Ophthalmic or Supplementary Ophthalmic list of a Health Board in Wales before permission for them to practice within the prison is granted. The optometrist will need full security/CRB clearance and will need to provide 2 sessions per calendar month at HMP Cardiff. The service will operate in full for 48 weeks per year.
