Abstract

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to establish a contract for the supply of Splint Products and Equipment for the Hand Therapy, Occupational Therapy Department. The Outpatient Hand Therapy Department plays a vital role in the management of acute injuries, long term conditions and occupation specific problems for the area of Cardiff and the Vale. Elective, Traumatic and Rheumatological conditions are served by our specialist outpatient teams. Patients are seen from initial referral right through the rehabilitation process until maximum function has been restored. Low temperature thermoplastics are required for immediate fabrication and issue within our busy clinics. A range of off the shelf hand, wrist and / or forearm based splints are necessary for a variety of conditions. Treatments for scars and oedema as well as remedial strengthening are well utilized within this field.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The Quality evaluation is based on two stages. Stage one is mandatory.

Suppliers that pass the mandatory criteria stage will progress through to the weighted Benchtop Evaluations.

Suppliers will provide free of charge samples for evaluation purposes as per the Instructions to Bidders document within the deadline stated. These will be clearly marked in reference to Product and the Lot / Sub Lot being submitted.

Suppliers must provide one product of each lot/ sub lot, or two products if the lots requires different sizes (e.g medium and large). There are 19 Lots in total

The initial contract term is two years with the option to extend for a further 12 months.

All bidders must completed the criteria set out within eTenderWales, all bidders must adhere to the NHS Wales Terms and Conditions for the supply of goods.

1. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to award the contract in whole, in part or annul the tendering process and not award any contract.

2. Bidders should note that they will be required to enter into terms and conditions of contract as set out in the ITT and that save for matters of clarification or consistency the Contracting Authority will not negotiate the terms.

3. The Contracting Authority will not accept completed ITT's after the stated closing date.

4. All documents to be priced (where applicable) in sterling and all payments made in sterling.

5. All tender costs and liabilities incurred by bidders shall be the sole responsibility of the bidders.
