NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership who are hosted by Velindre NHS Trust acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board wished to inform the market that they intended to award a contract for the provision of Maintenance and Consumables for Weqas' Roche Cobas 6000 (Cobas c 501 and Cobas e 601) analysers.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Weqas is one of the largest External Quality Assessment providers in the UK, with over 50 years of experience in delivering global Quality Assurance Programmes in Laboratory Medicine.
The contract includes;
a) provision of consumables for Roche Cobas 6000 (Cobas c 501 and Cobas e 601). It should be noted that it is anticipated that some consumable will be upgraded to newer versions during the life of the contract; the old versions of such consumables are expected to be seamlessly swapped out for the new versions at no extra cost.
b) Maintenance as an annual fully comprehensive service
c) Training days for up to 5 Weqas staff on the use of the Cobas 6000.
The contract duration will be 2 years with an option to extend for a further one year period.
