II.2.4) Description of the procurement
We are intending to purchase a metal binder jetting machine which will be focussed for research and development of new materials for additive manufacturing. The machine will be capable of building complex three dimensional metal AM objects directly from CAD data. The machine should be capable of manufacturing objects from a wide range of metal powders, including stainless steel, nickel-based superalloys, aluminium alloys and titanium alloys. As the machine will be R&D focussed, a small build volume is targeted (e.g. no larger than 200 x 100 x 100 mm3) to maintain the AM process cost-effective at laboratory scales.
