Abstract

Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) invites you to submit a Tender for The Replacement of Existing Traffic Signals at Coity Castle, Bridgend Gyratory. The junction is ducted and currently have poltec pole retention systems, the ducting has been proven to be good but with some blockages that will be dealt with prior to work commencing, all pole retentions are to be upgraded to standard NAL type. All cables are to be replaced but this does not include detection cables. All civils work to replace retention sockets will be part of the contract. Traffic Management, Temporary traffic signals must be provided by SRL namely Urban64 or similar throughout the scheme, this will be managed by the contractor. Any extra traffic management required for specific issues arising shall be the responsibility of the contractor All traffic management is to be agreed and authorised by the Streetworks department within BCBC. All new equipment provided under the contract shall comply with Traffic Signs Regulations and General Direction 2016. All new equipment provided under the contract shall comply with the latest issued TOPAS technical specification and be registered with TOPAS Ltd. Minimum standards and qualification required

The successful Tenderer shall be required to deliver the contract to the highest industry standards.

Contract Period:

• Award Date: Circa. 18th March 2024.

• Contract Action (Mobilisation Period – 15-weeks): Circa. 19th March 2024 to 2nd July 2024.

• Contract Start Date: Circa. 3rd July 2024. (4-weeks).

• Contract End Date: Circa. 31st July 2024.

• All dates to be mutually agreed.
