Abstract
Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (the “Council”) wish to appoint a consultant to lead on an Assessment of Wellbeing.
The Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 came into force on 1 April 2016. The Act aims to improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales.
The Act establishes a Public Services Board (PSB) for each local authority area in Wales. Each PSB is required to undertake an assessment of the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of its area, which will inform its well-being plan. This requirement is set out by the Welsh Government in the statutory guidance to the Act: Shared Purpose; Shared Future and the non-statutory guidance Public Services Boards: guidance on the use of evidence and analysis. The Public Services Boards of Neath Port Talbot, Swansea and Bridgend are working collaboratively to put the citizen at the centre of the well-being assessment which will provide information that will inform the well-being plans.
