Habitat Q&As
Habitat brief Q&As
1. Is there a tender proforma?
NO
2. Will you provide basemaps of the survey area in a GIS compatible format?
We have the Phase 1 data, which can be provided to the successful company in MAPINFO format.
3. Will you provide landowner details to aid site access?
If we have them than we will
4. Can you provide your Terms and Conditions, or will you sign the contractors Terms and Conditions?
Cadwyn Clwyd have terms and conditions which the successful contractor will need to sign, as mentioned in the brief document.
1) The first objective is to “map the key habitats…drawing from Phase One data”. Have you already had Phase 1 habitat surveys completed of the site? If not are you expecting Phase 1 surveys to be completed of the whole project area?
NRW hold a lot of this data, see answer to question 2.
2) If you already have Phase 1 habitat data, what format is this in? Does it already exist as GIS ready files (shapefiles, geo-tiffs etc) or do only have image files or hard copy maps?
We do and can give to the successful applicant – see question 2 answer
3) If the project is to include the completion of Phase 1 habitat surveys, would you except the use of targeted surveys – i.e. using aerial photographs/land use maps to identify areas that can be omitted from the survey?
Yes targeted surveys for any missing info will be fine

Habitat Q&As 2
Habitat Q&As 2
1) Does the Phase 1 habitat survey data from NRW cover the whole project area?
Yes
2) How reliable is the Phase 1 habitat data? (Coverage, age etc?)

Unknown, as reliable as any data can be. The data is NRW’s (Natural Resources Wales)

3) Would the Phase 1 habitat data easily identify the Fridd habitat that is of particular interest to the project? If not, would fieldwork be required to identify/ground truth the areas of this habitat? Would there be people already within the wider project team that would already have a good understanding of the distribution of this habitat?

Unknown but the project team have a good understanding of the habitat that they work in.

4) Assuming that there would be 1-2 meetings with the projects team, particularly to develop and agree projects, where would the preferred location for meetings?

In the project area of Denbighshire/Wrexham – e.g. Cefn Mawr, or AONB offices.
