Abstract
The contract relates to the refurbishment works at Grand Avenue Day Centre, Ely, Cardiff. The proposal is to upgrade and convert the existing Grand Avenue centre into a specialist centre for dementia and other high need clients. .
The aim is to upgrade the building to provide a fully accessible environment and provide additional space for specific activities in order to provide a specialist dementia care service
Works include
- re-modelling of the ground-floor to provide a reception/waiting area and an additional room
- upgrading of the basement to provide an activity room
- installation of lift access to allow access to the basement
- new toilet and changing facilities
- upgrading of services and building fabric
- provision of new furniture and equipment
- landscaping of garden area to provide a dementia friendly outdoor space.
