Roof Replacement - PM 2020/21

Description of the goods or services required

Taff Housing Association are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced contractor to undertake the replacement of planned roofs and dismantling of shared chimney stacks, at various low-rise domestic houses and converted flats. Situated within Cardiff’s inner-city areas of; Canton, Riverside, Grangetown, Roath and, Heath.

Nature: In general, the works will include the following:

 The removal of existing roof slates/tiles to the whole roof covering and replacement with a new roof slate/tile to match the finish, colour of the existing roof covering.

 The removal and replacement all existing ridge and hip tiles to the whole roof covering as specified.

 The removal and replacement of all underlay and battens with new breathable underlay and battens.

 The removal and replacement of all bedded cloak verge details to the gable-ends with new cloak verge as specified.

 The removal and replacement of all lead flashings, trims etc around the existing strip roof lights with new flashings as specified.

 The installation of cross ventilation measures as specified.

 The over cladding of existing timber fascia boards with new uPVC fascia/capping boarding as specified.

 The removal of existing guttering and downpipe rainwater goods and replacement of uPVC half round rainwater goods.

 The renewal of existing mineral wool loft insulation as specified.

 The dismantling/reconstruction of existing chimney stacks as specified.
