Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council are seeking to appoint a consultant to deliver a qualitative study of existing pedestrian movement that informs the development, outputs and outcomes of projects that provide enhanced facilities for pedestrian and cycling opportunities

Total quantity or scope of tender

To undertake video recording (minimum one working day and one weekend day at each key location) and analysis of existing pedestrian movement and vehicular/pedestrian conflict at following Merthyr Tydfil town centre locations:

A4102 Caedraw Roundabout

Tesco (Tramroadside North) Roundabout

Highway linking the above 2

Lower High Street

Upper High Street

Victoria Street

In addition, develop and deliver pedestrian user (intercept) surveys to collect data at all the key locations above, supplemented by on-line and postal surveys.

Analysis and evaluation of the captured images and survey data; output to include potential impact of the interventions, conclusions and recommendations, highlighting both pros and cons, and presented in a clear and accessible form.
