Description of the goods or services required

The purpose of this tender is to obtain a fixed rate price and illustrated layouts for the supply and installation of new playground equipment and where applicable safety surfacing and other features. Please utilise the Key Considerations for New Play Areas outlined within this document, to aid the design choices.

To aid the Contractor with planning, enabling and installation, an allowance of up to 16 weeks has been allocated for this contract.

The maximum budget of £110,000 (exclusive of VAT) is available and this is to include all design work, removals and disposals, safety surfacing, new equipment and installation.

Before tendering bidders are advised to visit the site to ascertain all relevant conditions and means of access and to thoroughly acquaint themselves with the extent and nature of the project.

An itemised quotation is required to identify all costs together with a 3D illustrated layout. The detail of the design choices are to be reflected within the responses to the method statement questions.

• Gates wide enough and manageable for wheelchairs and buggies.

• Seating for all to be near play equipment, some with table.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Provision of a new playground with play equipment for a variety of users and abilities for the age range 4 -14 years.

Supply and install the following:

Essential Equipment

- Zipwire 30m

- Frame net unit

- Stainless steel bank slide

- Concrete tunnels

- Double inclusive seesaw

- Double Frame Swing (Two Flat Seats and One Basket Seat)

- Double Frame Swing (Two cradle Seats and One parent toddler Seat)

- Inclusive roundabout with suitable drainage and wet pour surface with theme

- Overhead carousel with drop down seats (cableway type seats)

- Multiplay Unit suitable up to 14yrs (Slide, Climbing Wall, Pole and Rope Net multi access points to include one point for easy access points) – Promoting; Climbing, Balancing, Communicating, Exploring, Interaction and Challenge. Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven. To incorporate a double width slide – wide enough for 2 e.g. Parent/carer and child. Offers a variety of access points to accommodate different needs and abilities to include a gradual incline for ease of access that may also include a combination of ropes/climbing wall as part of the incline. To limit the risk of arson or vandalism covered areas are not required.

- Multiplay suitable up to 6yrs (Slide, Climbing Wall, Pole and Rope Net multi access points to include one point for easy access points) – Promoting; Climbing, Balancing, Communicating, Exploring, Interaction and Challenge. Climbing experiences to include low and multi-level experiences not just height driven. To incorporate a double width slide – wide enough for 2 e.g. Parent/carer and child. Offers a variety of access points to accommodate different needs and abilities to include a gradual incline for ease of access that may also include a combination of ropes/climbing wall as part of the incline. - 2no Steel Litter Bins with lids

- 2no Benches (steel low maintenance)

Safety Surfacing

- A durable rubber safety surface that allows adequate drainage, whilst creating ease of access to the inclusive roundabout. The rubber safety surface is to include a minimum 150mm Type 1 mot sub base.

- Grass matting to encompass the new formed areas.

Optional equipment

- If budget and design allows, we welcome additional items that will be considered to be innovative and exciting for the benefit of teenagers.

— Click on the ITT code. You can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the invitation to tender:

— You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting).

— You can now use the “Messages” function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification.

— Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT.
