Abstract

The specific proposal is to develop and pilot a cross sector senior leadership programme, across statutory and third sector in social care. Currently, there is no cross sector senior leadership programme specific to social care. This programme will sit within a framework of national management programmes which is managed for the 22 local authorities by Social Care Wales. Within the framework we have: - Team Manager Development programme (accredited) - Middle Manager Development Programme (accredited) - Developmental programmes for senior leaders (non accredited) This programme would sit at the developmental programmes for senior leaders level. The purpose of this pilot would be to test a collective leadership programme, with a long term aim that the programme would likely be offered every two years, or more frequently depending on demand. There is potential that the eligibility criteria may expand for future cohorts, to include partners such as health. This programme seeks to bring together learning opportunities across sectors, linking to our commitments in our workforce strategy for collective and compassionate leadership in social care. The principles of the programme would be based in compassionate leadership. The objective of the project is to support senior leaders across statutory and third sector to create a culture of continuous change and improvement across social care by: - Establishing a programme that will support senior leaders' personal development, learning and resilience. - Provide senior leaders with opportunities to work together across boundaries to coproduce and implement solutions for change and improvement in social care - Improve understanding and appreciation of collective leadership challenges - Build sustainable peer to peer relationships - Support leaders to develop their confidence and resilience and achieve what matters to supported individuals and communities. *Please download the ITT for further information and detail*
