Abstract
We wish to create a highly innovate, engaging and interactive site that is completely different from standard hiring platforms. Central to the development will be a highly accessible application process, using easy-to-read, stripped-back application forms and featuring video shorts to promote companies or vacancies.
Jobseekers will have their own log-in area where they can favourite employers, save vacancies and store and upload applications. Employers will be able to upload vacancies and manage applications themselves – or the site could potentially pull vacancies across from the websites of featured employers. There will be an area for associated resources both for employers and for jobseekers, such as CV templates, or access to guidance around reasonable adjustments. The successful bidder should consider how appropriate software/AI tools could support the accessible hiring process and reduce the burden of administration, e.g. creating EasyRead versions of job descriptions, and allowing jobseekers to submit video/ audio applications. The use of automated features and AI tools will reduce the need for costly and time-consuming human administration.
The platform will have a high level of accessibility, meeting WCAG level AA as a minimum, and aiming for level AAA. The successful bidder will also explore how to optimise the site for use with specialist software tools such as Reachdeck or ReadSpeaker.
We are gaining insights from employers and jobseekers across North Wales to inform the initial build and testing of the site and will drive an intensive local campaign to recruit users.
The successful bidder will need to consider introducing a series of metrics to enable us to measure success, e.g. the number of registered jobseekers, the number of registered employers, the number of vacancies and the number of applications. Ideally we would like to be able to know whether an employer has hired an applicant through the website.
Bidders should be aware that the website design and build will be a highly iterative process, and the scope of the project may be subject to change following detailed consultation with our stakeholders.
