Abstract

The Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum wishes to appoint a freelance Project Manager for a period of up to eight months to complete a transitional project leading to a comprehensive series of outputs and deliverables that will enable the Trust to plan effectively for the future. Trustees are embarking on this first phase of redevelopment work as they have determined that there is the need now to invest to ensure that the museum remains best placed to sustain and develop its work, and to establish a stable footprint from which to address key financial issues. Recognising that the required skills are different from those needed for the day to day running of the museum, the trustees have identified that it is more appropriate to enter an initial period of planning supported by expert help from outside. Those necessary skills include the ability to co-ordinate and lead on several sub-projects while maintaining contact with key stakeholders throughout. The key outcome expected of this project will be a resilient organisation fully briefed, highly motivated, and clear in its purpose. Within this primary aim, the trustees also wish to establish strategies to identify the museum’s continuing public impact, to enhance its educational role, and to embrace digitisation and the use of digital technology in various ways. The project is supported by a Third Sector Resilience Fund for Wales – Phase 2 grant administered by WCVA Cymru
