Local Authorities are faced with barriers when trying to access services to support children and young people who present with serious risk taking behaviours such as: self-harm, being victims of criminal exploitations, displaying signs of psychosis and/or emerging patterns of mental health needs often combined with attachment, emotional and developmental needs. Recognising the severe pressures CAMHS are under, conflicting methods of working, thresholds and priorities between social care and health needs can have negative consequences on accessing the right services at the right time.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg Region has a vision of providing a range of therapeutic specialist interventions to children who have complex and challenging needs, these children may present with a multitude of behavioural challenges which can be detrimental to a child’s placement with carers .
We are seeking to work with a specialist service provider to help create a collaborative, multi-disciplinary therapeutic intervention service to achieve positive outcomes to children with the highest needs through joint working, robust assessments and a suite of therapeutic option.
The contract value is 668,000 GBP per year and the contract is for 12 months with an option to extend up to a further 24 months the potential total value of the contract is 2,004,000 GBP.

The lead authority commissioning this service will be Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, however, services to children must be delivered throughout the Cwm Taf Morgannwg region.
