Abstract

The purpose of this project is to aid in the restoration of the special habitats of the River Usk SAC & SSSI through removal of the Japanese knotweed. As part of the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority (BBNPA), Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) Project, established in 2018, the INNS Team have recorded locations of Japanese knotweed along the upper sections of the main River Usk and are looking to complete a third year of herbicide control. The next stage of this project is: Follow up herbicide treatment of Japanese knotweed on the 2020 & 2021 treatment sites (approximately 84 sites & 27km of river both banks)

Japanese knotweed control contract : Brecon Beacons National Park Authority 2022

2.2

Description of the goods or services required

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

The successful contractor will have demonstrated and provided one or more examples to the selection panel that they have a strong, working understanding of and experience with controlling Japanese knotweed using herbicide control techniques.

The successful contractor will need to demonstrate they have sufficient capacity and flexibility to deliver the project within the agreed timeframe. The successful contractor will also be responsible for his/her own travel and subsistence, risk assessments and insurance. These elements should be evidenced in the submission.
