Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

Powys County Council (the Council) and Powys Teaching Health Board wish to commission an appropriate provider to operate the Powys Community Equipment Service for a period of three years with an option to extend for a further two years.

The Powys Community Equipment Service is provided under a Partnership Agreement between Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board,described as the Commissioner.

The Community Equipment Service provides a range of equipment for Powys residents for use in their own homes and, for a limited range of equipment, for use in residential and nursing homes.

The Council is seeking to engage with suitably experienced and competent Providers, in the context of increased financial pressures to provide the Powys Community Equipment Service, for items of prescribed equipment the Provider will:

- procure

- store

- deliver

- demonstrate

- install

- maintain

- test and provide compliance certificates

- collect

- decontaminate

- repair and refurbish

- recycle (and decommission where appropriate)
