Abstract

Conwy County Borough Council are seeking a contractor to undertake the truncated reconstruction of the Grade 2 listed Victoria Pier structure at Colwyn Bay Promenade inclusive of works to the lower and upper promenades. Works to include the strengthening of the lower sea defence wall, refurbishment of the remaining nine cast iron columns and installation of refurbished cast iron balustrades.

05/04/2019 09:17	Updated response to question relating to required load per metre of wall Hi, Please accept our apologies for the incorrect information provided in response to the question raised on 27/03/19 at 2.56pm. The required load per metre of wall or anchor is 20kN/m SLS (upper wall) and 20kN/m SLS (lower wall). The figure of 80kN/m for the upper wall is incorrect.
08/04/2019 09:51	Further clarification in respect of joinery items In response to the question posted on 4th April concerning the joinery items, further clarification has been added below. Timber joists: These are noted in the B of Q as C24 grade however this should be as per the structural engineers specification and have a strength class D60 as specified on drawing no. 5203.D2-P4. Tenderers are to price for D60 grade timbers as specification in B of Q returned with tender. Decking Planks: To be 100mm (wide) x 30mm (thick) as shown on drawing 5203 and in structural engineers specification. Contractor to price for D60 grade timbers as specification in B of Q returned with tender. Thanks
