the Cluster for Epigenomics and Antibody drug conjugate (ADC) Therapeutics (CEAT) is a 2.6m GB project, led by the Reproductive Biology and Gynaecological Oncology (RBGO) group at Swansea University Medical School and is looking to develop advanced drug technologies for the treatment of ovarian cancer. Building on RBGO success in recent years, CEAT is a collaboration of 6 industrial partners working towards the prevention and treatment of ovarian cancer by embedding enabling technologies and innovation into pre-clinical drug development pipelines for:
The advancement of novel epigenetic drugs using cross cutting technology approaches.
The development of techniques to identify patients that will benefit from targeted epigenetic and non-epigenetic drug treatments
The generation of novel ADCs effective against ovarian cancer
For antibody development, the SPR detection instrument will be used for early-stage screening of hybridoma/bispecific libraries, to monitor expression and triage antibodies based on binding affinity, profiling binding specificity and providing detailed binding kinetics and affinity to characterisation.
