Abstract

What is required / ‘The Requirements’ We need an approach that is: 1. Comprehensive and grounded in the needs and capabilities of our stakeholders and partners Our recent user research will provide a steer for the support people working in social care want from us. We now need to explore the views of our key partners in the health and social care innovation space in Wales. These partners include Health Technology Wales, the Regional Innovation Coordination Hubs, the Bevan Commission, Life Sciences Hub and TEC Cymru, as well as partners across Welsh Government, local authorities and Regional Partnership Boards. Other partner organisations in the broader digital support space in Wales include Cwmpas and the Centre for Digital Public Services. 2. Plays to our existing strengths and assets We are currently investing in a range of resources and assets to support innovation, including coaching support and community management. Ensuring value for money from these investments is critical, so any new developments should leverage the work already underway as well as identify any gaps. 3. Builds on learning from existing ideas and digital innovation support We’d like to understand what digital social care initiatives worked, for who, and how, here and in other parts of the UK and further afield, including government-led initiatives (like Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre https://www.dhi-scotland.com/ or England’s digitising social care fund https://transform.england.nhs.uk/key-tools-and-info/adult-social-care-digital-transformation/digitising-social-care-fund/ ) and provider-led initiatives (like England’s https://www.digitalsocialcare.co.uk/ ). To achieve this, we want to find a supplier who can: - Analyse the existing ecosystem of digital innovation support for social care in Wales and other parts of the UK and beyond. - Carry out research with our partners to identify priorities and gaps - Propose realistic recommendations for how we might provide support for digital innovation across social care in Wales We will support you with: - Identifying and contacting groups and key contacts - Providing background information and context - Regular contact and support through the life of the project - Translations of materials and report into Welsh - Design of final materials Aims and objectives We are looking for a Supplier to help us design our approach to identifying, supporting, facilitating and promoting digital innovation in social care in Wales 2.4 Outputs 1. A presentation of results and report including: - an overview of how digital innovation in social care is supported in other parts of the UK - a high-level assessment of the structures and organisations in place to support digital innovation in social care in Wales - an analysis of the gaps in Wales 2. A set of options for how we might use our, and partners resources and assets to best support, facilitate and promote digital innovation in social care in Wales to meet user needs Please see specification for more detail

Description of the contract

What is required / ‘The Requirements’

We need an approach that is:

1. Comprehensive and grounded in the needs and capabilities of our stakeholders and partners

Our recent user research will provide a steer for the support people working in social care want from us.

2. Plays to our existing strengths and assets

We are currently investing in a range of resources and assets to support innovation, including coaching support and community management. Ensuring value for money from these investments is critical, so any new developments should leverage the work already underway as well as identify any gaps.

3. Builds on learning from existing ideas and digital innovation support

We’d like to understand what digital social care initiatives worked, for who, and how, here and in other parts of the UK and further afield, including government-led initiatives (like Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre https://www.dhi-scotland.com/ or England’s digitising social care fund https://transform.england.nhs.uk/key-tools-and-info/adult-social-care-digital-transformation/digitising-social-care-fund/ ) and provider-led initiatives (like England’s https://www.digitalsocialcare.co.uk/ ).

To achieve this, we want to find a supplier who can:

- Analyse the existing ecosystem of digital innovation support for social care in Wales and other parts of the UK and beyond.

- Carry out research with our partners to identify priorities and gaps

- Propose realistic recommendations for how we might provide support for digital innovation across social care in Wales

We will support you with:

- Identifying and contacting groups and key contacts

- Providing background information and context

- Regular contact and support through the life of the project

- Translations of materials and report into Welsh

- Design of final materials

Aims and objectives

We are looking for a Supplier to help us design our approach to identifying, supporting, facilitating and promoting digital innovation in social care in Wales

2.4 Outputs

1. A presentation of results and report including:

- an overview of how digital innovation in social care is supported in other parts of the UK

- a high-level assessment of the structures and organisations in place to support digital innovation in social care in Wales

- an analysis of the gaps in Wales

2. A set of options for how we might use our, and partners resources and assets to best support, facilitate and promote digital innovation in social care in Wales to meet user needs
