Abstract

Caerphilly County Borough Council (the “Council”) has awarded a contract for the provision of a study into the factors which influence Rightsizing in later life. In this context, Rightsizing is described as an older persons’ active, positive choice to move home as a means of improving their quality of life (“Rightsizing”). The term ‘older people or older persons’ in this context relates to people over the age of 55. The subsequent report will supplement the Council’s Local Housing Market Assessment to provide a greater understanding of older persons’ housing needs and inform the production of the second (2nd) Replacement Local Development Plan (2RLDP), which will set out the planning policy context for future development in the period up to 2035.
