Description of options
Principal Designer (PD) services are not currently defined as part of the Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor scope. Should PD duties be required, these would be subject to separate negotiation and mutual agreement and may be delivered in‑house or via a qualified third party.
Tenderers should note that there is no guarantee of them being asked / offered to carry out any Principal Designer Services. The Council may appoint a third party to undertake Principal Designer Services at its sole discretion, with the successful Tenderer unable to claim for any loss or profit or income where the Council utilises a third party for any Principal Designer Services.
Where possible, any additional service provision / contracted work will be priced for using the tendered rates or a pro rata equivalent. Where any change results in a change of price, cost or equivalent, WCBC reserves the right to request additional evidence and justification to its satisfaction.
Any additional goods, services or works must not proceed without prior approval from an authorised WCBC Officer and WCBC will not be liable for any costs that it has not approved or authorised.
If the service provider is unable to fulfil any additional requirement(s), WCBC may appoint a Third Party to fulfil the additional requirement(s). The service provider will not be able to claim for any loss of income where WCBC appoints a third party to carry out any additional work that they are unwilling or unable to undertake.
At the time of tender all Tenderers should submit their offering and pricing structure based off the published documents, not the possibility of being offered the Principal Designer role or any related work / services.
