Abstract

The aim is to establish a service contract with a primary IT Service Provider for the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, for the period 1 August 2015 to 31 July 2020. The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol (“the Coleg”) plans and supports the provision of Welsh medium higher education on a strategic basis across all the universities in Wales. By working with the universities, the Coleg enables them to secure and develop more opportunities for students studying through the medium of Welsh. In particular, the Coleg sponsors Welsh medium lecturing posts, supports projects to create new resources, and offers scholarships to undergraduate and postgraduate students to study through the medium of Welsh. Description of the goods or services required

The aim is to establish a service contract with a primary IT Service Provider for the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, for the period 1 August 2015 to 31 July 2020. The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol (“the Coleg”) plans and supports the provision of Welsh medium higher education on a strategic basis across all the universities in Wales. The Coleg operates internally entirely through the medium of Welsh. It would therefore be advantageous if technical staff involved in the support and development of the contract are aware of the specific requirements of providing Welsh language/bilingual support and/or have specific Welsh language skills to assist in fulfilling support requests.

There is no requirement for the development of e-learning content as part of this contract. 5. Identity Management for internal and external users is via Active Directory, with secure LDAP services provided for authentication-based e-learning services and directory synching (PingOne) for our MediaCore cloud-based library service.

Thinking about your offsite backup requirements; you mention Veeam software, can I just confirm that you own the license for this and that if required we would be able to utilise this to provide an offsite backup solution? A. Yes, the Coleg owns the licence for the Veeam software used for the backups, and could be used to provide an offsite backup solution based elsewhere. Q. Are you able to provide an approximate figure for the backup storage space required? A. Approximately 2.2Tb (14 days retention). Veeam takes incremental backups during the week, with a full backup running on Saturday. Further specific backups are also run for DR purposes e.g. Exchange mailbox and SQL databases. Q. Regarding your TerminalFour CMS service, please could you provide hardware and software requirements for this application? A. Windows 2012 R2 with IIS and Apache Server for the TerminalFour SiteManager Application; Windows 2012 R2 with IIS for the web front-end; Windows 2012 R2 with Microsoft SQL Server for the TerminalFour database Q. Is the Sophos UTM device that is used to secure this application owned by Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol? A. Yes, the Coleg owns the UTM secure devices.
