Description of the goods or services required

The School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University requires a wide band vector network analyser (VNA) for high speed photodiodes (PDs) and avalanche photodiodes (APDs) frequency response measurement. The VNA needs to drive an external optical modulator as a RF source and be capable of detecting the electrical signal converted from PDs & APDs. Accurate and fast system calibration solution both at electrical and optical is required. The instrument should be used in a multiuser environment with a minimum of training. "
