Clarification questions asked by email;
Q1. Please can you clarify the timescales? Do you want the system to go live on 7th August, or just start the project on 7th August? Page 5 states that contract award is from 1st August - is the 7th August correct? When do you envisage that customisation, report-building and integration work would take place? Before the contract start date?
A1. 7th is correct – customisation and report building within 2 week trial period after this date.
Q2. Please can you confirm that you do not want hosting of the LMS to be included in this tender and that you would be responsible for the operation of the server? Is there a preferred platform (e.g. Linux or Windows)?
A2. Looking for cloud based – please see similar question answered and posted in relation to this tender on the Sell2Wales website.
Q3. What integration with Microsoft Dynamics is required, and in which direction? I.e. are you looking to import users into the LMS from Microsoft Dynamics, potentially authenticating them using Microsoft Active Directory; or are you looking to feed course completion information back into Microsoft Dynamics from the LMS; or some combination of this or other tasks?
A3. If possible we shall be looking to import from Microsoft dynamics (CRM) into the LMS when setting up learning groups – Our CRM cannot currently cope with completion dates back onto CRM from LMS.
Q4. Under system compatibility you mention support for existing technologies (Including but not limited to: Articulate, and Dynamics CRM.) Which other technologies do we need to know about and cover in our response, other than the aforementioned Articulate and Dynamics?
A4. What other authoring programme like Articulate does the LMS system operate with?
Q5. Under features and capability, you mention linkage to social media. Please can you define what you mean in terms of linkage to social media – do you want to be able to share courses and badges for completing courses? Who would be doing the sharing – administrators, or users? Do you want to include social media feeds inside courses or other areas of the LMS?
A5. We want to allow user landing page to have links to our social media platforms such as Chwarae Teg website/Facebook/Twitter, etc..
Q6. Under reporting and account management, please can you share the KPIs in question?
A6. KPI’s based on programme implementation plan support and financial for monitoring the contract in line with that stated within the tender contract.
Q7. How many courses are to be hosted?
A7. Currently 12, but with anticipated future development this could be up to 30 (or 50 depending on other projects).
Q8. All software, other than trivial examples, has some bugs within it. Does "zero defects" mean no unresolved issues from user acceptance testing or something different please?
A8. Zero defects refers to issues/bugs we deem to be resolvable by the supplier. We would expect the supplier to be upfront regarding bugs that cannot be resolved either within a certain period of time, or at all. The supplier would be expected to spend a reasonable amount of time and resource on issues to demonstrate that a resolution has been attempted.
