Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Assessment Service

Description of the goods or services required

This contract is for a Provider to undertake Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) assessments on behalf of Rhondda-Cynon-Taff CBC (RCTCBC) and Merthyr Tydfil CBC (MTCBC). RCTCBC shall be the lead contracting authority. The Provider will undertake the management, administration and assessment of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards applications to the standard prescribed by the DoLS Code of Practice, to ensure RCTCBC and MTCBC meet their responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

The overall required service outcome is to clear the existing DoLS waiting lists by 31st March 2022, prior to the implementation of the Liberty Protection Safeguards
