We are Tendering a for piece of research that aims to explore:

a) learners’ and teachers’ views on their experiences of the adaptations to their qualifications for summer 2022, and,

b) Whether and how the adaptations relate to their experience of progressing to further study in the 2022/23 year after receiving their results

We envisage the research as resulting primarily in qualitative analysis rather than quantitative analysis that generalises from a representative sample to a population.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The sample of participants should be broadly representative across relevant variables. For example, teachers and learners must represent at least schools across different regions in Wales and include English and Welsh medium schools. We also would wish that different types of school and colleges are targeted:

- Maintained secondary school, including sixth forms

- Maintained special school

- Independent school

- Independent special school

- Further Education (FE) College

- Pupil referral unit

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Essential qualifying criteria

Your tender will not be considered if you cannot fulfil the following requirements:

1. To avoid perceptions of a conflict of interest, Qualifications Wales are unable to accept bids from awarding bodies who offer regulated qualifications.

2. The supplier will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance is in place before commencing work with young people.

3. The supplier will need to make arrangements for the provision of Welsh-medium engagement activities and documentation used to support the fieldwork (for example discussion guides, consent forms and information sheets). The final report should be submitted in English only.

4. The supplier will hold Cyber-Essentials accreditation as a minimum or will obtain by the start of data collection in September 2022. See link for details if not already accredited https://iasme.co.uk.
