Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
This notice is being submitted to OJEU on a Voluntary basis and is not subject to OJEU rules.
The Milford Dock Master Plan was granted outline planning permission in 2015, following a 4 year planning process. This exciting regeneration scheme, which will be developed in phases, includes 480,000 sq. ft. of space available for food, retail, leisure, entertainment and residential developments. The plan will be developed around Milford Marina and Milford Fish Docks.
The Milford Dock Master Plan development has already started, with 2 major projects complete; the development of 2 new buildings at Milford Fish Docks to provide food grade processing units enabling tenants to add value to catch landed on the quay, on the quay, and facilities to support the fishing industry are now complete. The new GBP6m dock lock project was officially opened in June 2015. The Dock Lock project is part of Visit Wales’ Coastal Tourism project, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, to encourage tourism along the Welsh coastline. Transitions through the lock with the new gates has now reduced to as quick as 5 minutes (from up to 1 hour), which has already started to increase the appeal of Milford Marina with marine leisure customers.
The Milford Dock Master Plan will create a mixed use community, in order to attract increased visitor numbers, attract businesses (including the fishing industry) to want to be based at the development, create jobs in the local area, and improve the local economy. All of this will deliver the objective of putting “Destination Milford” on the Pembrokeshire visitor map and start to attract those who associate Pembrokeshire with attractions such as popular towns including St Davids, and the beautiful areas in the south of the county such as Tenby and Saundersfoot, as well as the established visitor attractions.
The brief requires the creative development of the Milford Dock Master Plan destination brand, including:
1. The definition of the name of the new development, supported by robust research and rationale (including brand testing)
2. A presentation of at least 3 initial creative approaches to brand representation, including examples of how these would work in different scenarios
3. The development of the chosen preferred route
4. Full brand/Corporate Identity guidelines, including direction on logos, fonts, colours, photography, tone and messaging for key audiences
5. The provision of all components required to deliver the brand physically and digitally.
