Description of the goods or services required

Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service on behalf of themselves and South Wales Fire & Rescue Service are seeking quotes from suppliers for the provision of window cleaning. The contract will be for the Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service and South Wales Fire & Rescue Service area and will appoint a supplier to provide window cleaning services to sites listed in ITQ Part 2, Section 8 – Schedule of Prices and Quality Assesment, but there may be a requirement for other sites to be added or removed during the term of the contract.

The contract will be awarded for a 3 year contract with the option to extend for an additional two 12 month periods up to a maximum of 5 years. Prices will remain fixed for 3 years from commencement of this contract, at which time a price review may be undertaken, which must be agreed by all parties.

This contract will be split in to two Lots:

• Lot 1 – Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service

• Lot 2 – South Wales Fire & Rescue Service

Suppliers may bid for either or both Lots.

Details of the current requirement, including establishment, cleaning requirement and frequency, are provided in the pricing schedule. Site addresses are listed in ITQ Part 2, Section 8 – Schedule of Prices and Quality Assessment.

If you are not familiar with these sites you are strongly recommended to view them prior to submitting your offer. This should be by prior arrangement with the relevant contact.

Suppliers must ensure that prices quoted include the successful cleaning of windows with an appropriate detergent (which can remove bird excrement).

Windows are to be sponged with an appropriate diluted detergent in clean water and “squeegeed” off to leave clean windows.

All personnel employed on this contract shall be suitably trained and experienced and capable of carrying out the required work in every respect.
