Abstract

Flintshire County Council is seeking to assess the feasibility of district heating schemes in a number of rural; off gas grid areas. These areas have been identified as areas where it is highly unlikely they will be connected to the gas grid and are therefore locked into high carbon intensity and expensive fuels for heating and hot water. There will be a phased approach to the studies; phase 1 will consist of a high level assessment of each area. Should any areas be deemed potentially viable; heat mapping and energy masterplanning will be completed as phase 2. External funding has been received for this project therefore a limited budget is available.
