II.2.4) Description of the procurement
Trivallis are seeking to appoint an experienced contractor to install an Automatic Fire Suppression System
(sprinkler system) on a programme to Trivallis properties, at various locations across Rhondda Cynon Taff.
The works comprise of the installation of Automatic Fire Suppression Systems (sprinkler system) on a
programme for Trivallis’ flats, maisonettes and Sheltered Housing schemes.
It will be the responsibility of the contractor to establish the full scope of work to enable full design,
installation and commissioning of an automatic fire suppression system, in accordance with current British
Standard 9251 any statutory requirements together with specific requirements outlined in this proposal.
We require successful contractor to be a suitably qualified and experienced contractor that is approved to
issue a certificate of conformity to BS 9251 by a UKAS approved certification body such as FIRAS or
LPCB or other recognised body.
This particular Package will include the following properties in order of priority;
1. Fernbank - Sheltered Scheme
2. Andrew’s Court – General needs
3. Ferndale House - Sheltered Scheme
4. Brynderwyn Court – General Needs
5. Maerdy Court - Sheltered Scheme
6. Maerdy Road - General Needs
Trivallis are aware that the programme may not extend to all properties on the current budget allocated for
the package. It is the intention of Trivallis to work with the successful contractor to undertake as many of
the properties above, subject to budget availability.

Trivallis are seeking to appoint an experienced contractor to install an Automatic Fire Suppression System (sprinkler system) on a programme to Trivallis properties, at various locations across Rhondda Cynon Taff.
The works comprise of the installation of Automatic Fire Suppression Systems (sprinkler system) on a rolling programme for flats, maisonettes and Sheltered Housing schemes, along with all associated works.
The works will be carried out at properties owned by Trivallis, situated in the geographical area of the Rhondda Cynon Taff.
This tender exercise is intended to assist Trivallis in selecting a single, suitable partner to deliver the required works and services.
The contract will indicatively commence in the week commencing 7th January 2021.
Contractors should note: Items of work are not comprehensively described. The Contractor is advised that is mandatory to visit the site prior to pricing, to achieve a clear picture of the scope of the works.
The contractor shall be fully responsible for the design and installation of the Automatic Fire Suppression system to Category 1 or 2 of the specification, further information on the requirement can be found within Annex 1 - General Needs Sprinklers - Employers Requirements V106102020.
