Welsh Government propose to establish a research contract to underpin our engagement with the farming community. This is to understand how they are responding to changes, which will inform policy evaluation and design.
The aims of the contract will be:
To understand Welsh farmers' experience of engaging with emerging Welsh Government schemes and policy changes and to track changes over time.
To understand Welsh farmers' experiences of wider structural and market-based changes in the industry and to monitor wellbeing of the industry.
To understand what factors (from within WG and more widely) influence farm business planning and decision making.
To explore emerging issues in depth with farmers and potentially, where relevant, to co-develop solutions to issues apparent from the survey.
