Total quantity or scope of tender
To undertake the demolition and asbestos removal to the 7th floor and isolated asbestos mitigation to 6th floor.
To carry out the safe removal and safe disposal of all asbestos materials including insulating board packers, column casings, vinyl floor tiles, AIB firebreak and bitumen adhesive.
This will also include the disposal of all identified ceilings, lighting, stud wall partitions, doors, WC facilities, M&E and radiators following the removal of column casing and packers.
The contractor will be expected to clear and appropriately dispose of any remaining furniture / fixtures from the area.
The contractor will be responsible for isolating the services (plumbing and electrics), and that the air handling system is secured to ensure no dust/debris is passed from the 7th floor to other areas of the building.
Demolition work to be undertaken with care and attention to the University business on the 6th Floor. This area will be used for teaching purposes and exam use whilst these works are being undertaken.
The removal of materials is to be undertaken with limited disruption to the users of the building and may be restricted to early (pre-9am) or late (post 4pm) or weekends. USW Estates will work with the contractor to identify quieter periods for demolition debris to be removed.
The removal of licensed asbestos waste is to be undertaken with no contact with USW Staff or Students. The useof the lifts will be allowed but the lifts will need to be appropriately protected.
6th Floor area is highlighted on plan L102 G7th Demo Plan. This plan shows an indicative route for drainage from G7. The indicative plan shows G602 (Central Store), G602a (Store), G603 (Male WC), G603a (Female WC). Please refer to Environtec Asbestos Survey J535104.
Certification of asbestos disposal to be provided.
Certification of air testing to be provided.
