Abstract

The three National Parks in Wales all offer opportunities to enjoy dark skies. The National Park Authorities of Snowdonia, Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire Coast have come together to develop a joint National Park Wales programme relating to dark skies and are seeking to commission consultants to develop this work. The Dark Skies: Brilliant Parks project will show how these world-class landscapes can be enjoyed just as much by night as they are by day. This project will help promote Wales’ National Parks as high quality locations to enjoy dark skies. The project activities include: i. Branding and marketing plan ii. Suite of activities and adventures relating to the theme iii. Short film to promote ‘Dark Skies: Brilliant Parks’ to visitors and inspire the trade to be involved iv. Digital interactive manual to support trade engagement and product development Submissions must be received no later than 1700 Thursday 5th November 2015. The commission and all related material must completed by 14th March 2016. There is a ceiling sum of £32,000 allocated to this commission

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

Indemnity- It will be a condition of the appointment that the Consultant will hold the Client indemnified against any claims arising from the commission whether caused by negligence or otherwise. The Consultant will be required to carry Professional Indemnity Cover of at least £1,000,000 and the existence of this cover should be stated in the response to the brief.

Sub-contracting - The appointed Consultants may provide all services required by this brief or may sub-contract particular tasks. The lead consultant must be responsible for all of the work of the whole team. The appointed consultants will undertake all the research and analysis necessary to achieve the requirements set out in the brief.

the above question was answered in correctly and the answer given to 14/10/15 related to question asked on 15/10/15 The correct answer to 14/10/15 should be Question - Is it possible to just bid for a single project activity, such as (iii) Short film to promote ‘Dark Skies: Brilliant Parks’ to visitors and inspire the trade to be involved? Or does a bid need to comprise of all 4 activities? Response The bid needs to comprise of all 4 activities as described in Section 3. Section 12.i states that particular tasks or elements of the bid may be subcontracted. Therefore we will accept bids that state that they will be subcontracting an element out, if this is the case then we expect that the bid will include detail on how subcontracting will be managed to ensure timely, on budget, high quality outputs. The lead consultant must be responsible for all of the work of the whole team and this will include any work that is subcontracted
