Additional Information
Menter a Busnes have been awarded the tender to deliver the Resilient Economy -Local Supply Chains programme, which is funded by the Welsh Government Rural Communities –Rural Development Programme 2014 -2020.
This is a collaborative project led by Bridgend County Borough Council on behalf of 8 Local Action Groups encompassing 11 Local Authorities namely – Bridgend, Caerphilly & Blaenau Gwent, Cwm Taf (Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf), Vale of Usk (Monmouthshire and Newport), Neath Port Talbot, Powys, Torfaen and The Vale of Glamorgan.
The overall purpose of the project is to encourage farmers, land based producers and processors to collaborate, resulting in the strengthening of the SME base and the creation of strong co-operative clusters to take forward new projects. Targeting new, small and hard to reach producers it will address the barriers to engagement, up-skill, create clusters and networks and build physical capacity for economies of scale. As part of the project delivery we wish to undertake research with consumers and buyers, to gauge general attitudes towards local produce, buyer behaviour and products consumers / buyers can’t source locally. The research will help inform the overall project of current market conditions in South East Wales and Powys, as well as highlight any gaps in the market, which will assist the groups in identifying potential new collaborative opportunities.
(WA Ref:72308)
Relates to the following project/programme financed by EU Community Funds: The project is funded by the Welsh Government Rural Communities –Rural Development Programme 2014 -2020.
The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
