Abstract

Sport Wales has conducted surveys of participation in and provision of school sport approximately every two years since 1990. The surveys provide a base of evidence from which to shape sports policy and practice. Up until 2011, this data was collected through two separate surveys administered at different times of the year: the Active Young People Survey and the PE Provision Survey. In a bid to increase response rates and to report on school sport in a more holistic way the two surveys were brought together in 2011 to create the School Sport Survey. In 2018, Sport Wales will run the next School and FE Sport Survey. Sport Wales wishes to commission an agency to undertake the following tasks for the 2018 survey, summarised as follows: 1.Questionnaire development: assist with the design, and set up of six bilingual questionnaires for the 2018 survey; 2.Contact management: manage a contact database of schools and colleges in Wales and send personalised email invitations and reminders to contacts to take part in the survey; 3.Web hosting: provide webhosting service for the six bilingual questionnaires; 4.Real-time monitoring: Provide real-time monitoring of responses that can be accessed by Sport Wales staff and external partners working across Wales; 5.Outputs and reporting requirements: Produce tailored automated reports in PDF or word format of the results for individual schools, FE colleges, local authorities, and larger areas to be agreed, such as educational consortia and health boards, using weighted data; 6.Raw data: Provide Sport Wales with raw data exported for use in SPSS; 7.Customer support: Provide customer support to Sport Wales throughout the process; 8.Technical risk management: Work with Sport Wales to manage potential technical risks within the overall project;
