Conwy Culture Centre-Exhibition Design and Fit-Out

Description of the goods or services required

Conwy County Borough Council wishes to appoint a suitable Supplier to design and fit out the heritage exhibition at the new Conwy Culture Centre.

The term of the contract period will be for 40 weeks from 03/12/2018 to 6/09/19.

The Conwy Culture Centre will be an innovative learning environment where library, archive and museum visitors are able to encounter and navigate collections, interpretation and themes across library, archive and museum services during their visit, whatever their initial motivation to visit the centre. So, library users who may not normally engage with heritage collections will be given the opportunity to ‘encounter’ heritage interpretation in an engaging and non-daunting way that adds to the reader experience, adds a dimension to both learning environment and visitor experience, without disrupting the browsing experience. The challenge is to create an inspiring and stimulating visitor experience whilst avoiding confusion or clutter within the space available.

Relates to the following project/programme financed by EU Community Funds: A capital grant was awarded to the project by the Heritage Lottery Fund, together with funding from MALD (Museums, Archives and Libraries Division, Welsh Government), the Rural Community Development Fund, Gwynt y Mor Community Fund, and Arts Council Wales.

The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
